Replacement valve body and solenoid pack for the MPS6 6DCT450 dual-clutch transmission used in the Ford Focus, Fusion, Mondeo and Volvo.
Valve body assembly with solenoids for the MPS6 (Getrag 6DCT450) wet dual-clutch six-speed. This is the hydraulic control unit that bolts to the transmission case behind the mechatronic cover and feeds clutch and shift pressure. Listed fitment covers Chrysler 200 2007-2014 2.0L, Sebring 2007-2010 2.0L/2.2L, Dodge Avenger 2007-2014 2.0L, Journey 2008-2016 2.0L/2.2L, Ford Focus 2006-2016 1.5L/2.0L, C-Max 2011-2016 2.0L, Escape 2012-2016 2.0L, Fusion 2014-2016 2.0L, Mondeo 2008-2015 1.6L-2.2L, Galaxy 2010-2015 2.0L/2.2L, S-Max 2010-2016 2.0L, Fiat Freemont 2011 2.0L, and Land Rover Freelander 2 (LR2) 2010-2011 2.0L/2.2L.
The MPS6 is the wet-clutch unit, not the DPS6 dry PowerShift, and the two are not interchangeable. Send the VIN or match the casting and part number against yours before it goes on the bench. The unit ships with a protective oil film on the valve body face; that is packaging, not used-part residue.
Typical symptoms that put a tech on this part: harsh or delayed 1-2 and 2-3 engagement, a flare between gears, no forward or reverse after warm-up, transmission overheat and limp-in, and solenoid performance codes that stay set after a fluid and filter service. Because the solenoids are supplied with the body, you are replacing the pressure controls and the valve bores at the same time instead of chasing one sticking valve at a time.
On the job: drain the fluid, pull the mechatronic cover and the wiring pass-through, unbolt the old body in sequence, and keep the clutch feed passages clean and free of debris from the old fluid. Refill with the correct MPS6 dual-clutch fluid, then run the adaptive relearn so the TCM re-learns clutch touch points before road testing.
