Some fasteners on a driveline job live well past what a normal 1/2-inch torque wrench can reach. Axle nuts on 3/4- and 1-ton trucks, pinion nuts, output flange nuts, and the big flexplate and torque converter hardware on heavy automatics all run into the hundreds of foot-pounds. This adapter is the affordable way to hit those numbers without laying out for a full 3/4-inch drive torque wrench that spends most of its life in the box.
It drops between any 3/4-inch ratchet or breaker bar and your socket and reads the actual torque at the fastener on a digital display, with a three-LED light bar and an audible beep that speeds up as you close on your setting and goes solid when you hit it. Range is 150 to 750 ft-lb (200 to 1000 N-m) at plus or minus 2 percent, and it reads in ft-lb, N-m, and kg-m so you can work straight off the service manual.
