NextLED NT-2220LF-UV Underhood LED Work Light Bar

An underhood light bar is the difference between guessing at a leak and finding it. This NextLED NT-2220LF-UV hangs across the engine bay on padded hooks and puts 2000 lumens straight down onto the bellhousing, the cooler line fittings, and the top of the transmission case, so you are not working one hand on a flashlight while you try to break a line loose.

The bar is two separate 1000-lumen light sticks clipped into a telescoping frame. The frame extends from 48 inches to 77 inches, which covers everything from a compact car to a full-size truck fender to fender. Pull either stick out of the frame and it becomes a handheld light you can drop into the pan area or set on a magnet under the vehicle; run both in the frame and you get 2000 lumens across the whole bay. Three modes: high at 2000 lumens, low at 1000 lumens, and a 395 nm UV mode for chasing dye-traced ATF and coolant leaks.

Power is an internal 3.7V 8000 mAh lithium pack, charged over USB-C, good for about 2.5 hours on high and 7 hours on low, with a four-segment battery indicator on the housing. The base bracket folds and detaches so the bar will stand on a bench when you are working a valve body or a teardown instead of hanging it in a car. Hooks are soft-padded so they do not mark up a fender lip.

One thing worth knowing from the manufacturer: charge it with a USB-A to USB-C cable. A USB-C to USB-C cable can trip the overcharge protection on this pack.
