Manual Transmission Fluid Extractor Pump, 8 Liter

An 8 liter (2 gallon) manual fluid evacuator. You pump the handle to build vacuum in the tank, then the fluid flows in on its own through the hose. No compressor, no 12V lead, so it works in a driveway, on a boat dock, or in a customer's parking lot the same as it does in the bay.

For transmission work it is the easy way to do a drain-and-fill on units with no pan drain plug. Run the long 41-inch dipstick hose down the fill tube until it bottoms in the pan, pump it down, and let it pull. Measure what came out in the clear tank, then put back the same amount of fresh ATF. Doing two or three of these exchanges spread over a few hundred miles freshens the fluid gradually without the shock of a full flush on a high-mileage transmission. The same setup pulls fluid out of power steering reservoirs, differentials through the fill hole, coolant and engine oil through the dipstick.

The tank has an overflow shutoff valve that stops the pull once it is full, so it will not suck fluid into the pump. The 5-foot suction hose reaches reservoirs you cannot get the tank next to. It is meant for low-viscosity fluids like ATF, gear oil, power steering fluid and warm engine oil. Do not use it on gasoline or other flammable liquids.
