Threads into the GM ATF fill port so you can push fluid in from a top-side exchanger on 6L80, 8L90 and 10L80 transmissions during a refill or fluid service.
Late GM automatics do not have a dipstick or tube. Fluid goes in through the fill/check plug on the pan or case, which is a tight spot to work a pump or a fill line into by hand. This adapter threads into that fill port and converts it to a universal 2-inch outlet, so you can couple it straight to a top-side ATF exchange machine or a fill pump and pump fluid in cleanly.
It fits the GM 6-, 8- and 10-speed rear-drive automatics found from 2015 up in Chevrolet, GMC and Cadillac trucks and cars: 6L50, 6L80, 6L90, 8L45, 8L90, 10L60, 10L80 and 10L90. These are the units behind the 5.3, 6.2 and Duramax platforms, so one adapter covers most of the shop's GM fluid work.
On the bench or under the truck the routine is simple: pull the fill plug, thread the adapter in hand-tight against its seal, connect your exchanger hose to the 2-inch outlet, and add fluid to the correct level with the pan at the specified temperature. When you are done, back the adapter out and reinstall the factory fill plug. The aluminum body and sealing shoulder hold up to repeat use without weeping.
