Adds a drain plug to the GM 6L80 and 6L80E transmission pan so you can drain and refill fluid without dropping the pan; includes the filter and gasket.
On the GM 6L80 and 6L80E, the factory oil pan has no drain plug. That means every fluid service starts with unbolting a stamped pan that is still holding several quarts of hot ATF, then catching all of it as it comes over the crossmember. This OE FIX replacement pan matches the fit and function of the original 18-bolt pan but adds a threaded drain plug, so the next service is a clean drain-and-fill instead of a wrestling match. It ships as a complete service unit: pan, filter, magnet, rubber-backed gasket, and the drain plug.
Fitment covers the 6L80/6L80E across the GM lineup: 2007-2019 Silverado 1500, Sierra 1500, Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon and Yukon XL, Cadillac Escalade and ESV, Chevy Avalanche, Camaro, Corvette, and Hummer H2. It replaces GM part numbers 24222657, 24224781, 24236933, and 29535617. Confirm your exact year and that your truck runs the 6L80 (not the 8L90) before ordering.
On the bench or on the lift, crack the new drain plug first and let the pan empty, then drop the pan, swap the filter, and set the new pan with the supplied gasket. Run the bolts up finger tight, then torque in an alternating cross pattern so the gasket seats flat and does not leak. Give the drain plug a quick check that it seats dry before you fill.
