This is a 27 piece pull and press sleeve set for removing and installing press-fit bushings, bearings, and seals using threaded draw spindles instead of a hydraulic press. It includes 22 steel sleeves covering bore diameters from 34 mm to 80 mm and 5 pulling spindles in M10, M12, M14, M16, and M18. The sleeves are carbon steel, the spindles are heat treated and blackened, and everything stores in a blow-molded case.
You work it the same way a shop press does, but with a threaded rod. Pick a receiving sleeve larger than the bushing to catch it on one side, a driving sleeve that matches the bushing outer diameter on the other, run the correct spindle through both, and tighten the nut to draw the old bushing out. To install, flip the sleeves and press the new bushing square into the bore. Each sleeve is notched so it grabs the edge of the bushing and lets you watch its position as it moves.
This is the kit for pressing control arm, subframe, and differential carrier bushings in place on the vehicle when you cannot get the part to a bench press, and for jobs where heating or hammering a press-fit bushing out would damage the housing. It covers most car, light truck, and larger LCV and HGV bushing sizes. The M12 spindle uses a 2.0 mm thread pitch, so keep the sleeves square to the bore and the spindle straight under load to avoid bending a rod.
