



Pulls press-fit bearings off transmission input and output shafts with 2-inch and 3-inch splitter jaws rated to 5 tons, plus push-puller legs and a forcing screw.
Bar-type bearing separator and puller set for the job every rebuild eventually hits: getting a press-fit bearing off a shaft when you have no press handy or the part will not fit under one. The two splitter jaws (a 2-inch and a 3-inch) clamp behind the bearing's inner race and the forcing screw draws the shaft out through the yoke, so the pulling force lands on the race instead of the balls or rollers. That is what keeps you from wrecking a bearing you meant to reuse.
On the bench it earns its keep pulling bearings off automatic input and output shafts, pressed-on pinion and carrier bearings, planetary and reaction gears, pulleys, and steering-wheel hubs. Rated at 5 tons, it clamps parts from small shaft bearings up to wheel-hub size. The kit runs the jaws, a 6-inch yoke, a 7-1/5-inch forcing screw, four 4-1/3-inch and four 5-1/3-inch extension screws, and two 5-3/5-inch L-legs, which lets you set the jaw depth and reach to match the part instead of fighting a fixed frame.
Working tips from the bench: seat the split jaws squarely behind the race and snug both jaw bolts evenly before you load the screw, or the separator will cock and slip. Back the forcing screw off between resets and add a drop of oil on the threads so it turns easy under load. The pieces are drop-forged, heat-treated steel and drop back into the blow-molded case so a leg does not walk off between jobs.
