OTC 4507 Bearing Race and Seal Driver Set, 10-Piece

This is OTC's 10-piece race and seal driver set: one T-handle driver and nine aluminum discs sized 1.565, 1.750, 1.965, 2.325, 2.470, 2.555, 2.830, 2.995, and 3.180 inches. The discs are double-sided. Use the tapered side to seat a tapered bearing cup (race), then flip the same disc to the flat side to drive a seal. Because the drivers are aluminum, they set the race or seal square without peening the edge or scoring the housing bore the way a socket-and-hammer setup does.

On the bench this is the tool you reach for when you are rebuilding a differential, a hub, an axle, or a transmission tail housing and need a new bearing cup or seal to go in flush and straight. Match the disc OD to the race or seal OD, tap it in with the handle and a dead-blow, or drop the disc under a shop press for a controlled press-in. The set covers the cup and seal sizes on most domestic and import cars, light trucks, ATVs, and small equipment.

What it prevents: a cocked race that whines or spins in the bore, a seal driven in crooked that weeps ATF or gear oil, and the burrs you get from driving on the race face with a socket. Sizes are stamped on each disc so you are not eyeballing diameters. Ships in a blow-molded case that holds the discs in size order. Confirm the cup or seal OD you need falls in the 1.565 to 3.180 inch range before ordering.
