Pries out axle, pinion, extension-housing and pump oil seals on cars, SUVs and light trucks using two hook-tip sizes on a 12-inch handle without gouging the bore.
The OTC 4508 is a 12-inch professional seal puller for lifting pressed-in oil and grease seals back out without cutting into the housing or nicking the bearing behind them. The hook slips under the lip of the seal and the long handle gives you the leverage to walk it out in one piece instead of prying with a screwdriver and chewing up the bore.
It ships with two hook-tip sizes so you can reach both shallow seals and the deeper, harder-to-catch ones. Around a transmission this is the tool you grab for the extension-housing (tailshaft) seal, the front pump seal after the converter is off, and the axle and pinion seals when you are chasing a leak that traces back to a driveline component. The double-secured hook tip holds up to the pull far better than the light-duty pullers that flex or snap on the first stubborn seal.
An extra blade is included in the box, and replacement blades are sold under OTC part number 4508-1, so a bent or dulled tip does not retire the tool. Overall dimensions are about 3.25 by 12.35 by 1.2 inches.
