Measure clutch plates, thrust washers and selectives to a tenth, not a guess.
Calipers get you close, but a rebuild lives or dies on the numbers a caliper can't read. Clutch pack clearance, friction and steel plate thickness, thrust washer wear, selective snap rings and shims - these are tenth-of-a-thousandth decisions, and a 0-1" outside micrometer is the tool that makes them. This one reads to 0.0001" so you can stack a clutch pack to spec, sort selectives by measured thickness instead of eyeballing them, and catch a worn plate before it costs you the job.
Carbide-faced anvils hold their reference over years of use, the ratchet stop gives you the same measuring pressure every time so your readings actually repeat, and the spindle lock lets you pull the mic off the part and read it in better light. Comes with a setting standard to zero it and a fitted case to keep it clean on the bench. If you build transmissions, this is a tool you reach for on every teardown and every final assembly.
