Pre-bled clutch master and slave cylinder assembly with the hydraulic line already attached, for 1993-1997 Ford F250 HD, F350, F53 and F73 manual trucks.
This is a complete clutch hydraulic assembly for 1993-1997 Ford F250 HD, F350, F53 and F73 trucks with the 7.3L or 7.5L V8 and a five-speed manual behind it. The master cylinder, the hydraulic line and the concentric slave cylinder ship as one sealed unit, already filled and bled at the factory. Ford never intended these to be serviced piece by piece - the slave sits inside the bellhousing around the input shaft, so replacing just the master leaves you with an old slave you have to pull the transmission to reach.
Installation follows the factory sequence. With the transmission out, the old slave comes off the front bearing retainer and the new one slides on in its place, then the line routes up through the firewall grommet and the master bolts to the pedal bracket. Do not disconnect the coupling or pull the shipping strap off the slave until the unit is mounted - that is what keeps the system bled. Once the transmission is back in and the pushrod is connected to the pedal, cycle the pedal slowly by hand several times to seat the piston before you start the truck.
The failure this fixes is the classic one on these trucks: pedal goes soft or drops to the floor, the truck will not come out of gear at a stop, and you find fluid weeping down the pedal arm or a wet spot in the bellhousing. That is either the master cylinder seal or the slave seal letting go, and because the two share the same fluid and the same line, replacing the whole assembly is the only repair that does not send you back under the truck a second time. If the transmission is already out for a clutch job, this goes in at the same time.
