Pro-Lift 6 Ton Jack Stands Pair with Double Locking Pins

A pair of stamped-steel 6-ton stands that hold the vehicle while the transmission comes out. Working range is 16 in. to 23-1/2 in., which is the window you need to get a floor jack or transmission jack under the pan and still have room to walk the unit out from under the crossmember. Rated capacity is 6 tons (12,000 lb) and Pro-Lift states the stands meet or exceed ANSI/PALD.

The height post is a cast ductile iron ratchet bar rather than a stamped rack, so the teeth do not deform under repeated loading. It uses a double lock: the release handle locks in the down position, and a separate mobility pin drops through the column as a mechanical backstop. Set the height, drop the handle, then seat the pin before anything gets under the vehicle.

Standard bench practice for a transmission R and R: lift at the factory jack point, set both stands on the frame rail or pinch weld pads on level concrete, lower the vehicle onto the saddles, then shake the car before you slide under it. Once the driveshaft, crossmember and bellhousing bolts come out, the extra height at the 23-1/2 in. setting is what gives you the clearance to tilt the tailshaft down and clear the tunnel.

Sold as a pair. For a full transmission pull on a truck you generally want four stands so the rear stays supported when the crossmember is unbolted.
