SLXA BMXA Master Rebuild Kit Honda Civic 1.7L 2001-2005

This is a complete master rebuild kit for the Honda BMXA and SLXA four-speed automatic, the transaxle used across the 2001-2005 Civic with the 1.7L D17 engine. BMXA is the unit in the DX, LX, EX and GX; SLXA is the HX version. If your Civic slams or slips going into a gear, judders under light throttle when the converter locks up, or has lost drive after a burnt-clutch smell, this is the kit you open to put it right on the bench.

The kit carries the full friction clutch pack, matched steel plates, the transmission oil filter, and a complete gasket and seal set, including the pump and axle seals and the internal sealing rings. The seals are fluorine rubber (FKM) rated past 200 C, so the rubber does not harden and weep the way tired factory seals do once the fluid gets hot. The frictions are cut for a high, consistent coefficient so the pack holds without glazing or cooking the steels.

Use it during a full teardown: soak the frictions in clean ATF before assembly, replace every seal and o-ring as you rebuild each clutch drum, set your clutch clearances, and prime the pump before it goes back in the car. The kit covers the wear items that fail on this transmission. It does not include the hard parts (drums, shafts, valve body) or the torque converter, so inspect those and reuse or replace as needed.
