Holds 12V system voltage steady at 2, 10 or 25 amps through TCM relearns and long key-on diagnostics, and revives flat shop batteries.
A transmission job does not end when the pan bolts are torqued. Adaptive relearn, solenoid strategy resets and TCM reflashes all run with the key on and the engine off, and a battery that sags below roughly 12.4 volts partway through will abort the write or leave the module with a half-loaded calibration. This TowerTop unit is the bench charger you clamp on before you plug in the scan tool. Four selectable outputs (2A, 10A, 25A and a fully automatic mode) let you hold a maintenance trickle during a long drive-cycle relearn or push 25 amps to bring a drained battery back up fast; the manufacturer rates it at a full charge on a 100Ah battery in under three and a half hours.
It is a fully automatic microprocessor charger, not a dumb transformer. It reads battery voltage and state of charge on connection, picks the charge stage, and drops to a float maintenance current once the battery is topped, so you can leave it clamped on a vehicle that is sitting on the lift for two days waiting on a torque converter without cooking the battery. There is also a desulfation and repair mode for shop batteries that have sat flat and lost capacity, and a winter mode that raises the charge voltage for cold-weather charging. An engine-start assist mode is built in for the car that came in on a hook.
Works with the battery chemistries you actually see in a driveline bay: standard flooded lead-acid, AGM, gel and deep cycle, all on 12 volt systems. It runs on standard 120V AC wall power, measures 10.04 x 7.68 x 4.92 inches and weighs 5 pounds, so it lives on the bench or hangs off the cart rather than taking a floor space. Manufacturer part number BC0253, model TP108MB, ETL and FCC listed.
