Direct-fit transmission oil cooler for 2003-2010 Ford F-250 to F-550 6.0L Super Duty, about triple the stock core to keep ATF temps down while towing.
This is a direct-fit automatic transmission oil cooler for 2003-2010 Ford Super Duty trucks running the 6.0L Powerstroke, covering the F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550. It matches OEM part numbers FC1546T, 3C3Z7A095CA, 4C3Z7A095CA, 5C3Z-7A095-B and 5C3Z-7A095-CA, and drops into the factory lower radiator mounting holes.
The core is roughly three times larger than the stock Super Duty cooler, which is why it is also a common upgrade on 1999-2003 7.3L Powerstroke Excursion and Super Duty trucks that left the factory with an undersized cooler. Plumb it inline ahead of the small factory cooler so hot fluid coming off the transmission hits this unit first, then finishes through the front cooler before returning.
Install is straightforward on 6.0L trucks: it bolts to the existing lower radiator support holes. On earlier 7.3L trucks you drill out the two lower bracket rivets to clear the A/C condenser, and you will need about three feet of 1/2 inch transmission cooler hose plus a pair of 3/8-to-1/2 inch reducers to tie into the smaller factory lines. Check the tubes for shipping damage before mounting.
If your Super Duty is pushing ATF past 200 degrees while towing, the stock cooler is usually the culprit. Owners report fluid temps dropping 20 to 25 degrees after the swap, with the transmission holding around 150 to 180 under load. Keeping ATF cooler is the single biggest thing you can do to extend the life of a 5R110W TorqShift.
