It carries the friction plates, steel plates, sealing rings, gaskets, rubber seals and O-rings you replace on a full teardown, so one box covers the wear parts instead of chasing individual line items.
Fitment covers 2009-2013 Camry (2.4/2.5/3.5L), 2008-2013 Highlander (2.7/3.3/3.5L), 2010-2013 Sienna (2.7/3.5L) and 2009-2013 Venza (2.7/3.5L). These units are known for burning the underdrive and direct clutches and glazing the steels once the fluid breaks down, which shows up as flare on the 2-3 shift, a shudder in lockup, or delayed engagement when cold. Fresh frictions and steels reset the clutch clearances so the pack holds line pressure again.
On the bench, air-check each clutch drum after assembly, set clutch clearance with the selective in the kit's stack, and pre-soak the frictions in ATF before you load them. Replace the pump and drum sealing rings while the case is split rather than reusing the old ones. The kit does not include a filter or the hard parts (drums, hubs, pump), so inspect those and order separately if worn. It is a rebuild kit, not a solenoid or valve-body kit.
