Complete Koyo bearing, race, shim and seal kit to rebuild a Dana 30 front differential and set pinion depth and backlash correctly.
This is the full master overhaul kit for the Dana 30 front axle, USA Standard Gear part number ZK D30-F. It covers the axle used under Jeep CJ, YJ, TJ, XJ, ZJ and JK front ends, plus the Dana 30 front carriers found in a range of light trucks and SUVs. A master kit is what you want any time the ring and pinion is coming out, because it includes the shim pack needed to reset pinion depth rather than reusing worn shims.
In the box: carrier bearings and races, pinion bearings and races, pinion seal, complete shim kit, ring gear bolts, pinion nut, and crush sleeve, oil baffles and slingers where the application uses them. Bearings and races are Koyo. That matters on a front diff, because the carrier bearings are what hold backlash steady once the axle is loaded and articulating.
Typical bench sequence: pull the carrier, press the old pinion races out of the housing, drive the new races in square with a driver set, set pinion depth with the new shims and a depth gauge, crush the new sleeve to the correct rotating torque, then shim the carrier for backlash in the 0.006 to 0.010 in range and check the pattern with marking compound before final assembly.
This is the kit to reach for when the front end is howling on decel, you found metal in the diff cover, or you are installing a new ring and pinion ratio after a lift and larger tires. Ring and pinion, spider gears and the carrier itself are not included.
