Bolts between the 7.3L Powerstroke block and the 4R100 or E4OD bellhousing to restore correct spacing when the original plate is cracked or missing.
This is the engine-to-transmission adapter spacer plate that sits between the rear face of the 7.3L Powerstroke block and the transmission bellhousing on 1994-2003 Ford F250, F350 and F450 trucks. It replaces International/Ford part numbers 1818265C1, 194398, 1818265C1-B and 1818265C1-C, and it fits both the E4OD and 4R100 automatics and the ZF5 manual.
The plate is not optional hardware. It sets the distance between the crank flange and the bellhousing, keeps the starter nose located where the ring gear expects it, and closes off the bottom of the flywheel area so road debris stays out. Run the transmission back up without it and you get a starter that grinds or won't engage, bellhousing bolts that never pull the case flush, and a dust cover that will not line up.
Most of these get replaced for one of two reasons. Either the original was scrapped, bent, or left on the shop floor during a transmission R and R, or the plate cracked around the starter bolt bosses after years of a heavy 4R100 hanging off it. On a 7.3 with a converter and a cast case behind it, that plate carries real load, so a cracked one gets worse fast.
Installation is straightforward on the bench: with the transmission out, clean the block face, set the plate over the two dowel pins at the rear of the block, then bring the transmission up and start the bellhousing bolts by hand before torquing them down in a cross pattern. Fit the starter last and check that it seats flat against the plate.
