Drives the six 6L80/6L90 case and drum bushings to the correct depth on GM 6-speeds so a rebuilt unit seals square without egging the bore.
This is the dedicated bushing driver set for the GM 6L80 and 6L90 six-speed automatics found behind small-block and LS engines in 2006-up Chevy, GMC, Cadillac, Hummer, Pontiac and Holden trucks and SUVs. When you tear one of these units down for a rebuild the old case, drum and stator bushings come out worn or spun, and pressing new ones back in with a socket or a shop-made mandrel is how you end up with a cocked bushing and a converter that runs hot. This set gives you a driver sized for each bore so the bushing goes in square and stops at the right depth.
The kit is 9 pieces total: 7 hardened bushing drivers plus 2 knurled driver handles. Each driver is turned from solid steel and heat treated, so the faces hold up to being struck or run under a press without mushrooming. The drivers are stepped to pilot in the bore and shoulder against the bushing, which is what keeps you from driving it too deep. Works on 4WD, AWD and 2WD versions of the transmission - the bushing locations are the same across drive types.
It cross-references the factory 104bdmk / 6L80-Tool service tool, so if you have a Kent-Moore style procedure in front of you the drivers line up with the callouts. Bushings themselves are not included - pair it with a Sonnax or OE bushing set for your build. Fits the 6-speed 6L80/6L90 only; it is not for the 6T70/6T75 transaxle.
