A bushing removal and installation set sized for the GM 6L80 and 6L90 six-speed automatics, 2006 and newer, as used in Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac and Hummer trucks and SUVs. It is sold as a replacement for the 104BDMK / 6L80 bushing tool.
The 6L80 does not share bushing sizes with the older 4L60E and 4L80E, so a generic 52-piece set often leaves you hunting for a driver that fits right. This set is made for the six-speed, so you can drive worn bushings out of the case and pump and seat new ones straight and to depth without the bushing collapsing or going in crooked.
Bushing wear on the 6L80 leads to lost lube and clutch apply pressure, which shows up as harsh or slipping shifts and TCC shudder complaints on high-mileage units. When the transmission is torn down, measure each bushing and replace any that are scored, spun or loose before you reassemble.
This set is for the 6-speed 6L80 and 6L90 only.
