6R140 Transmission Valve Body Ford Super Duty 6.7L

This is a complete replacement valve body for the Ford 6R140 TorqShift six-speed, the transmission behind the 6.7L Power Stroke in 2011-2019 F-250 and F-350 Super Duty trucks. It is cross-referenced to Ford number BCZ-7A100-B (BCZ7A100B) and ships as an assembled unit with the aluminum casting, separator plate and internal valves already together, so you are swapping one assembly rather than rebuilding bore by bore.

On a high-mile 6R140 the valve body is usually what is actually wrong when the truck starts throwing solenoid performance and ratio codes. Aluminum bore wear lets line pressure bleed past the pressure regulator and TCC control valves, and the symptoms follow a pattern: harsh or banging 1-2 and 2-3 shifts, a shudder that comes and goes with converter lockup, delayed engagement when you pull the selector into drive, and shift solenoid codes that come straight back after you replace the solenoid. Once a bore is worn, no new solenoid fixes it, because the leak is downstream of the solenoid.

On the bench: drain the pan and pull it, remove the filter, then disconnect the lead frame connector and unbolt the old valve body working from the center out. Keep the bolts in order, they are not all one length. Set the new unit on with a new pan gasket and filter, torque the valve body bolts to the Ford sequence and spec rather than by feel, and reconnect the lead frame before the pan goes on. Refill with Motorcraft MERCON LV only, then check level at operating temperature with a scan tool watching transmission fluid temp. Plan on the truck relearning shift adapts over the first several dozen miles.

Worth doing at the same time while the pan is off: new filter and pan gasket, and inspect the old separator plate and the pan magnet for clutch material. Heavy friction debris in the pan means the clutch packs are going too, and a valve body alone will not save that transmission.
