6R80 Aluminum Transmission Pan Kit for Ford F-150 265-854

This is a cast aluminum replacement oil pan for the Ford 6R80 6-speed automatic. It replaces the factory pan, Ford part numbers BR3Z-7A194-A and HC3Z-7A194-A, and crosses to Dorman 265-854. The kit comes with the pan, a pan gasket, a full set of 21 pan bolts and a magnetic drain plug already threaded into the pan.

Fitment: 2011-2018 Ford F-150, 2011-2017 Expedition, 2011-2017 Mustang and 2011-2017 Lincoln Navigator with the 6R80. The pan measures about 19.5 x 12 inches and 2.83 inches deep. Late F-150s and Expeditions moved to the 10R80, which uses a different pan, so read the transmission tag on the driver side of the case before you order.

The factory 6R80 pan is thin stamped steel with no drain plug. It rusts along the flange on salt-belt trucks, and it dents on rocks and ruts, which can crush the filter underneath. A fluid service means dropping the whole pan and wearing ATF on your arms. With a drain plug in this pan, you can drain it cleanly on the next service, and the magnet catches the fine clutch and gear material so you can see what is going on inside. The ribs on the bottom add strength and shed some heat.

To install it, drain as much fluid as you can, then loosen the pan bolts and let one corner drop to empty the rest. Remove the pan, pull the old gasket, and clean the case flange with a plastic scraper so no gasket material falls into the valve body. This is a good time to change the filter. Set the new gasket on the pan, start all 21 bolts by hand, then snug them in a crisscross pattern to 10-12 lb-ft. Do not overtighten them, because that crushes the gasket. Refill with Mercon LV, then check the level through the fill plug with the engine running and the fluid at the correct temperature.
