Twenty-nine bushing drivers and ten handles for pressing bushings in GM 700R4, TH350 and TH400 cases without scoring the bore.
This is the full 39-piece bushing driver set: 29 drivers covering sizes 21 through 49 plus 10 knurled drive handles, in a fitted case. The drivers are CNC machined from solid steel and black anodized, so the face stays flat instead of mushrooming over after a few hundred hits the way a soft driver does.
The point of a stepped driver is that it picks up on the bushing's outside diameter and pilots inside the bore at the same time. Drive a bushing in with a socket or a piece of pipe and you either cock it in the bore or swage the ID down so the shaft binds. With the right size driver the bushing goes in square, sits at the correct depth, and the ID stays on size. On removal the same driver backs the old bushing out from behind without cutting the aluminum.
Covered applications are wide. GM: 125 and 125C, 180 and 180C, 200, 200-4R and 200C, 250 and 250-C, 325 and 325-4L, 350 and 350C, 400, 440-T4, 700-R4, Powerglide, and Super Turbine 300. Ford: A4LD, AOD, ATX, C3, C4, C5, C6, FMX, and Jatco. Chrysler: A404, 413, 417, 727, 904, and 909. On the 700R4 that covers the case rear bushing, the pump bushing, the direct drum and the reaction shaft, which are the ones that go with a converter that has been running with low line pressure.
One limit worth knowing before you order: this set is cut for the main transmission section. It does not carry the drivers for the overdrive section, so an overdrive housing bushing still needs its own driver. Bushings are not included.
