A960E Transmission Solenoid Kit, 9-Piece Set

This is a complete nine-piece solenoid set for the Aisin A960E six-speed automatic (Aisin TB-60 series), the rear-wheel-drive unit behind the Lexus IS250, IS350, GS300 and GS430. Replacing the whole set at once costs less than chasing one solenoid at a time and puts every shift and pressure circuit back on a matched set of new coils.

Listed fitment: 2006-2012 IS250 2.5L V6, 2007-2012 IS350 3.5L V6, 2005-2007 GS430 4.3L V8, and 2005-2006 GS300 3.0L. Check the transmission tag and your old solenoids against the photos before you order, since Toyota and Lexus used several close cousins of this unit.

On the A960E, a sticking or weak shift solenoid shows up as harsh or late shifts, a flare between gears, or a limp mode with shift solenoid and linear solenoid codes. A tired lockup solenoid gives you shudder at cruise. If the fluid is burnt or the pan is full of friction material, solenoids will not fix it; if the fluid is clean and the codes point to the electrical side, this set is the right repair.

On the bench: drop the pan, pull the filter, and unplug and unbolt the solenoids from the valve body one at a time so each new one goes back in the same bore. Use new O-rings, lube them with ATF, torque the retaining bolts lightly into the aluminum, and fill and check level hot per the factory fill-plug procedure since this unit has no dipstick.
