Allison 3000 Push Button Shift Selector 29551555

This is an aftermarket replacement for the Allison push-button shift selector, part number 29551555. It also replaces 29551495, 29546171, 29544831, 29546209 and 29546211. The keypad has R, N and D buttons, up and down arrows, a MODE button and a digital display window. A plastic pry tool is included for taking the old panel out of the dash.

Fitment: Allison 3000, 3500 and 4000 Series transmissions in RDS, HS and PTS configurations, as found in medium and heavy trucks, dump trucks, tankers and similar work vehicles. Match the part number on the back of your current selector before ordering.

The problem it solves: selector keypads live in the dash of a truck that gets hosed out, vibrated and pushed with gloves all day. The buttons wear, stick or stop registering, and the display can drop out. The driver sees no gear change when a button is pressed, a delayed response, or a selector that works only when pressed hard. Before you replace the selector, check the harness connector and the TCM for stored codes, because a bad connector or wiring fault can look exactly like a dead keypad.

Install: key off, pry the old selector out of the dash with the included tool, and unplug the harness. Inspect the connector pins for corrosion, plug in the new selector, seat it in the panel, then start the truck and run through R, N, D and the up and down arrows before putting it back in service.
