Dorman 265-850 ZF 8HP Transmission Pan with Drain Plug

This is Dorman's OE FIX replacement oil pan for the ZF 8HP eight-speed automatic used across FCA vehicles: Ram 1500, Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, Challenger and Durango, and Jeep Grand Cherokee, roughly 2013 and up. It matches the fit and function of the factory 8HP45/8HP70 pan but adds two things the original does not have: a threaded drain plug and a filter you can replace on its own.

The factory ZF pan is a sealed unit with the filter bonded in, so a fluid service means pulling the whole pan and buying a complete pan-and-filter assembly every time. With this pan you drain the fluid through the plug first, drop the pan clean, and on the next service you only swap the filter and gasket using Dorman's 265-850F filter kit. That turns a messy, expensive job into a straightforward drain-and-fill.

On the bench and under the truck: the pan ships with a new gasket and mounting bolts. On the 5.7 Hemi the exhaust crossover sits right under the drain, so most techs unbolt the rear trans mount and lift the transmission an inch to clear the pan on the way out. Set the gasket, run the bolts up in a cross pattern, and torque to the vehicle spec in sequence; take the supplied fasteners to final torque carefully rather than air-gunning them. Refill with the correct ZF 8-speed ATF and set level at the specified fluid temperature.

It solves the routine problem of a weeping or over-mile ZF 8-speed that needs fresh fluid, and it makes every future service cheaper by keeping the pan and replacing only the filter. Ships from the USA.
