DQ250 DSG Gearbox TCU Bench Data Adapter Breakout Box

A bench harness for DSG and S tronic mechatronic units. The GT107 adapter plugs onto the transmission control module and gives you a full OBD2 pin breakout on the other end, so a J2534 pass-thru interface, VVDI2 or an OBDSTAR unit can talk to the module sitting on the bench instead of bolted in the car. The included GT105 power cable and battery clip lead feed the module 12V straight off a bench supply or a shop battery, and the 0.28 inch display reads back supply voltage with a low voltage alarm below 11V plus a CR2032 coin cell test.

Covered modules: DQ250 (VW/Audi 02E six speed wet DSG), DQ200 (0AM seven speed dry DSG), DQ500 (0BH/0BT seven speed wet DSG), DL501 (0B5 seven speed S tronic), and the VL381 and VL300 multitronic CVT units. Those are the units that end up on the bench when a car throws intermittent gear engagement faults or drops into limp, and the question is always whether the mechatronic or the car side wiring is at fault.

On the bench: clip the power lead to 12V, land the adapter on the module, then set the ignition line to auto or manual with the switch on the housing so the module wakes the way the software expects. VPW, CANH, CANL and K-Line indicator lights show which line is actually toggling, so a dead CAN pair or a module that never wakes shows up in a few seconds rather than after an hour of chasing software errors. PIN4 (body ground) and PIN5 (signal ground) are broken out separately with a switchable short mode, which is what you need when a module only communicates with the two grounds tied and you are trying to prove a ground fault.

What it does not do: no diagnostic software and no power supply are included, and it does not repair a mechatronic. It is the connection and power side of bench work, so you can read, program or adapt a replacement unit before it goes back in the car.
