Bushing Driver Kit 8-Piece for Ford 4R100 Transmission

Eight-piece bushing driver set cut for the Ford 4R100 four-speed automatic. Each driver is a pass-through design sized to one of the 4R100 bushing positions — pump, drums, case and extension housing — so the bushing goes in straight and stops at the right depth instead of cocking in the bore the way it does when you drive it with a socket and a hammer. Bushings are not included; this is the tooling only.

The drivers are machined from POM (acetal) engineering plastic rather than steel. That matters on a 4R100: the case and pump housings are aluminum, and a steel driver that slips off the bushing face will gall the bore or roll the leading edge of a new bushing and leave you with a shaft that never centers. Support the housing on the bench, start the bushing square by hand, set the matching driver on it, and tap it flush. At 1.76 lb the whole set travels in a 7 x 5 x 3 in box. Confirm your unit before ordering — the earlier E4OD shares much of the case family but not every bushing size.

Worn 4R100 bushings are what let the input, output and stator support shafts walk in their bores. That walk shows up as low line pressure, a converter or pump seal that keeps pushing fluid out the front, and drum-to-shaft wear you will find again in a year if you only replace the seal. Every bushing gets changed during a proper rebuild; this kit is what makes those eight installs clean.
