Infiniti/Nissan 7-Speed RE7R01A ATF Fill Adapter Tool 7425

The Nissan and Infiniti 7-speed automatic (RE7R01A, the JATCO JR710E/JR711E) is a sealed transmission. There is no dipstick and no tube down from the top: you add fluid through a fill port on the side of the case and set the level by a temperature-controlled overflow. To get fluid in there you need something for the hose off your ATF fill tank or pump to thread into, and that is exactly what this 7425 adapter is.

It is turned from aluminum alloy with a black finish and a knurled grip so you can start it by hand, and it carries a Viton O-ring instead of a cheap rubber one, so it seals clean and does not weep when the pump builds pressure behind it. The threaded end is M8 x 1.0 and the body is about 2-3/4 inches (68 mm) long. It connects to the common ATF filling tanks and pumps, including CTA 7400-style setups, so it drops right into a service you are probably already tooled up for.

Fitment is the Nissan/Infiniti RE7R01A 7-speed used behind the longitudinal rear-drive cars: Infiniti G25, G37, EX35, EX37, FX35, FX37, FX50, M37, M56, Q50, Q60, Q70 and QX50/QX70, plus the Nissan 370Z. These transmissions do not tolerate being run low or overfilled, so the point of the tool is to fill them the right way, level set at the specified fluid temperature with the excess allowed to run back out the overflow before you plug it.

One reminder from anyone who has done this job: bring the fluid up to temperature and check level with the engine running and the vehicle level, or the reading is meaningless. The adapter does the sealing; the temperature procedure does the accuracy.
