JF015E CVT Service Kit with Filters, Gasket and NS-3 Fluid

Everything you need to do a proper filter-and-fluid service on the Jatco JF015E, which Nissan calls the RE0F11A. That is the CVT in the 2013-2019 Sentra 1.8L, the 2012-2019 Versa sedan 1.6L, and the 2014-2019 Versa Note 1.6L. The kit covers OE filter numbers 31726-28X0A and 31726-3JX0A.

In the box: the side-mounted cartridge filter with its seal, the sump filter with seal that sits inside the pan, a pan gasket, a drain plug washer, five 1-quart bottles of NS-3 specification CVT fluid, and a funnel with a long tube for reaching the fill hole on these transaxles.

Most shops only drain and fill these units and never touch the cartridge filter on the side of the case. That filter loads up with belt and pulley wear material, and a restricted filter starves the valve body of line pressure. That is one of the common reasons a JF015E starts to shudder, whine, or flare on takeoff. Doing both filters and dropping the pan to clean the magnets gets out a lot more of the old fluid and debris than a drain and fill alone.

Basic procedure: drain the pan, pull the pan and clean the magnets, replace the sump filter and gasket, torque the pan bolts evenly, then remove the side cover and swap the cartridge filter. Refill through the fill hole with the funnel, then check the level hot using the procedure for your model. A drain and pan drop will not take all five quarts, so keep the leftover fluid for topping off.
