Complete JF016E control valve body with solenoids for 2013-2017 Nissan Altima 2.5L and 2014-2017 Rogue, replacing 31705-28X0D and 28X2B.
This is the complete control valve body assembly for the JF016E (RE0F10D) CVT8, the Jatco continuously variable transmission behind the QR25DE four-cylinder. It ships with the solenoid pack, stepper motor and pressure control solenoids already fitted to the casting, so it goes on the transmission as one unit rather than as a bare body you have to populate from your old core.
It replaces OE numbers 31705-28X0D, 31705-28X2B, 31705-28X0A, 31705-28X0B and 31705-28X0C. Fitment is 2013-2017 Altima (L33) with the QR25DE, 2014-2017 Rogue (T32) QR25DE, 2017-2019 Rogue Sport (J11) MR20DD with CVT assembly 31020-70X9E only, and 2017-2018 X-Trail (T32) QR25DE with CVT assembly 31020-70X9C or 70X9D only. Check the CVT assembly number stamped on your case before ordering - Jatco ran more than one valve body casting inside the same model year.
The JF016E valve body is the part you go to when the CVT judders under light throttle, hesitates or slips on takeoff, holds a high ratio and will not come down, drops into failsafe with a fixed ratio, or sets pressure and ratio codes such as P0847, P0868, P0841, P0745, P17F0 and P17F1 after the fluid and the pressure test have already been checked. A plugged screen or a contaminated pack will drive every one of those symptoms, so drop the pan and look at the magnet and the filter first.
Bench work: the body mounts to the underside of the CVT with the pan off. Keep the harness connector clean, line the case-to-body dowels up before you run any bolts down, and torque the valve body bolts in a criss-cross pattern to the factory figure for your model. Fill with genuine Nissan NS-3 CVT fluid - NS-2 and generic multi-vehicle CVT fluid will bring the shudder straight back - and reset the CVT learned values with a scan tool before the road test.
