Full synthetic ZF-spec ATF that replaces Lifeguardfluid 6, 8, and 9 in ZF 6HP, 8HP, and 9HP automatics on BMW, Audi, Jeep, and RAM. Five quarts.
The ZF 6HP, 8HP, and 9HP automatics are sensitive to fluid. They shift on tightly controlled line pressure and mechatronic solenoid timing, so once the factory fluid oxidizes it shows up as harsh 1-2 shifts, torque-converter lockup shudder, and delayed engagement. This is a 100 percent synthetic ATF built to the ZF Lifeguardfluid specification, so it holds the frictional stability those valve bodies were calibrated around instead of glazing the clutch packs.
One five-quart jug covers the common ZF families. It fully replaces ZF Lifeguardfluid 6 (S671 090 255), Lifeguardfluid 8 (S671 090 312), and Lifeguardfluid 9 (S671 090 399), along with Mopar 8 and 9 speed ATF. Typical applications include the ZF 8HP45/8HP70 behind BMW 3, 5, and 7 series, X3/X5, Audi and VW longitudinal 8-speeds, Jaguar and Land Rover, and the Chrysler 845RE/850RE and 8HP that runs in the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Wrangler and the RAM 1500, plus the 9HP48 (948TE) transverse nine-speed in the Cherokee, Renegade, and 200.
A ZF 8HP drain-and-fill through the pan pulls roughly four to five quarts, so one jug does a standard service; a full fluid exchange takes two. Fill through the standpipe or fill port, then set the level at the ZF-specified fluid temperature window (usually around 30 to 40 C) with the engine running, not cold. It stays fluid down to -60 F for cold-start protection and is compatible with all factory transmission seals. Ships from the USA.
