ZF 6HP26 6HP28 6HP32 Transmission Oil Pan Filter Kit

On the ZF 6HP26 family the transmission filter is molded into the plastic oil pan, so it is not a separate service part. When you service the fluid you drop the whole pan and bolt on a new one with the filter already built in. This kit gives you the complete pan with integrated filter, a fresh rubber gasket, and 21 replacement Torx bolts so the job is done in one shot.

Fits the ZF 6HP26, 6HP26X, 6HP26Z, 6HP28 and 6HP32 six-speed automatics found under a wide range of BMW models (E60/E61 525i-550i, E63/E64 645Ci-650i, E65/E66 745i-760Li, E70 X5, E71 X6, E90/E92 3-series diesels) and the same ZF units used in Jaguar and Land Rover. On the bench: drop the old pan and let the residual fluid drain, pull the old integrated filter off with the pan, set the new pan with filter and gasket in place, and run the 21 bolts down in a cross pattern to spec. Refill through the fill plug at operating temperature until it weeps at the standpipe. The OE bolts use small Torx heads that strip easily on a stuck pan, which is why the upgraded bolts are included.

This is the fix for the classic ZF 'lifetime fluid' problems: a gasket that warps and seeps a slow ATF leak, and a clogged filter that causes harsh or flaring shifts once the fluid breaks down. Pan, filter and fresh fluid together bring the shifts back and stop the drip.
