U760E Transmission Master Rebuild Kit for Camry and Highlander

This master kit covers the Toyota U760E and its all-wheel-drive twin, the U760F. These are the six-speed transaxles bolted to the four-cylinder engines in the 2009-2012 Camry 2.4L/2.5L, the 2008-2012 Highlander 2.7L, the 2010-2012 Sienna 2.7L and the Venza 2.7L. Read the model code off the transmission tag before ordering.

It is a full master kit: the overhaul set (seals, gaskets, sealing rings and rubber rings), the friction kit and the steel kit, so every clutch pack can be rebuilt with new plates instead of reusing worn steels.

These units are known for a shudder or flare on the 2-3 and 3-4 upshifts, a harsh engagement into drive and a lock-up shudder at highway speed. Once the plates are glazed, fresh fluid alone will not fix it. Clean the valve body and replace any worn solenoids while the unit is apart, because contaminated fluid from burnt clutches is what often takes them out.

Soak the frictions in Toyota WS fluid before assembly, check pack clearances against the factory spec, and fill to the correct level using the overflow check procedure. There is no dipstick on the U760E.
