



Bolts a Chrysler 727, 904, GM TH350, TH400 or Ford AOD to any 2-3/8 inch post engine stand so you can rotate the case while you rebuild it.
This is the adapter plate that turns a plain engine stand into a transmission rebuild stand. The mounting face is drilled for the common domestic bellhousing patterns, so a Chrysler 727 or 904, a GM TH350 or TH400, and a Ford AOD or 4R70W all bolt straight to it. The collar slides over a 2-3/8 inch stand post, which is what nearly every 1000 lb and 2000 lb import engine stand uses.
On the bench it does the one thing a fixture has to do: it lets you spin the case. Bolt the transmission to the plate, tighten the post clamp, and you can roll the unit nose-up to pull the pump and the front drum, then roll it tail-down to drop the valve body and set the servo without draining fluid across the floor. That beats laying the case on a bench and shimming it with wood blocks, which is how front pump bolt holes get galled and how a stacked clutch pack ends up on the shop floor.
The integrated hoist hook is the part people overlook. A cast iron TH400 or a 727 with the converter still on it is over 150 lb and awkward to lift by hand. Hook a chain to the loop, pick it up with a shop crane, and set it onto the plate one-handed instead of wrestling it up to stand height. The bracket is a wider, thicker plate than the stamped J-8763 style fixtures, so it does not flex under a heavy cast iron case the way the thin ones do.
Note the plate is the adapter only. You supply the engine stand and the bolts appropriate to your bellhousing pattern.
