XTOOL IP500 Toyota Bidirectional Full System Scan Tool

The XTOOL IP500 for Toyota is a full-system scan tool locked to the Toyota family - Toyota, Lexus and Scion - so it reaches the modules a generic code reader never sees. It reads and clears codes across the whole vehicle (ECM, TCM, ABS, SRS, BCM and body modules), graphs live data while the vehicle is running, and connects through the OBD2 port with no subscription to keep it alive.

On transmission work the TCM side is what earns its keep. Pull live ATF temperature, input and output shaft speed, gear commanded versus gear attained, line pressure and TCC slip on a U660E, U760E, U250E, A750E, A760E, AB60 or the UA80 eight-speed, then use bidirectional active tests to command solenoids and shift the box on the lift. A stored P0741 or P0770 tells you something is slipping; commanding the output and watching nothing change is what proves whether it is the solenoid, the valve body or the clutch pack before you drop the pan.

It also solves the sealed-transmission fluid level problem. Toyota's WS-filled units have no dipstick and the overflow plug check is only valid inside a narrow fluid temperature window - you need a tool that reads live ATF temp off the TCM to know when to pull the plug. Without that reading the level check is a guess, and an overfilled or underfilled WS box comes back with shudder and flare.

Beyond transmissions it runs 21-plus service functions, including injector coding, electronic parking brake retract, ABS auto bleed, throttle body relearn, oil life reset, steering angle sensor calibration, TPMS and battery registration. Software updates are free for the life of the tool. This is the Toyota-only version of the IP500 platform - if your bench is mostly Toyota, Lexus and Scion, it gives near-dealer coverage in a tool that lives in a drawer.
