02E DQ250 DSG External Oil Filter and Pan Gasket Kit, VW/Audi

Service kit for the VW/Audi 02E DQ250 six-speed wet-clutch DSG, the transaxle behind millions of Golf, GTI, Jetta, Passat/CC, Beetle, EOS, Audi A3/TT/Q3, and Seat and Skoda models from roughly 2004 to 2014. It contains the external oil filter, OEM number 02E-325-429D (02E 325 429 D), plus the oil pan gasket you need to close the box back up.

The DQ250 runs two filters. This is the external cartridge filter that feeds the mechatronic hydraulic circuit, not the internal suction screen in the sump. When it clogs with clutch and gear debris, line pressure drops and the box shifts harshly, hangs between gears, or throws pressure and clutch-adaptation fault codes. VW's own service interval is a fluid and filter change around every 40,000 miles, and this filter is the part that actually keeps the valve body clean.

On the bench or on a lift, drain the DSG fluid, drop the pan, pull and replace the internal screen if you are doing a full service, then swap this external filter and lay the new pan gasket. The gasket is a fluoroelastomer rubber seal that stays put and does not take a compression set from heat cycling, so the pan does not weep after it warms up. Refill with the correct G 052 182 spec wet-DSG fluid and set the level to temperature.
