Complete oil pump drive gear set, part 188711D, for the Ford 10R80 and GM 10L90 ten-speed, for replacing worn or chipped pump drive gears.
This is the oil pump drive gear set for the Ford 10R80 ten-speed automatic, sold under manufacturer part number 188711D and supplied as one complete set. The same gear set is listed for the GM 10L90, which is the General Motors version of the ten-speed the two companies co-developed. The 10R80 sits behind the engine in 2017-up F-150, Mustang, Expedition, Ranger and Bronco applications, so this is a common enough box to see on the bench.
The pump drive gears are what turn engine input into line pressure. Every clutch apply, every solenoid, and the whole lube circuit downstream depends on them. When the gear teeth chip, wear the profile off, or scuff from debris after another failure, line pressure falls off and the symptoms follow: delayed engagement out of park, a flare between shifts, harsh or slipping upshifts under load, and codes for pressure control performance. Because the pump is fed by the same fluid that carried the debris, a gear set that looks marginal at teardown usually is.
On the bench this goes in during a rebuild or a pump job, after the case is split and the pump assembly is off. Inspect the mating bore and the pump body before installing new gears - if the housing is scored, new gears alone will not hold pressure. Lay the set out and confirm the part number 188711D against what came out before you build the pump back up, since the ten-speed family has more than one internal configuration across model years.
Before ordering, match the transmission tag on the case rather than the truck year. Ten-speed units get swapped between platforms and the same VIN year can carry more than one build.
