10R80 Transmission Oil Pan Kit with Filter and Gasket

This is a complete pan service package for the Ford 10R80 ten-speed: a stamped steel oil pan with an integrated drain plug, the internal transmission filter, and a reusable metal pan gasket. It replaces Ford part numbers HL3Z7A194A, HL3Z7A194B and HL3Z7A194C for the pan, HL3Z7A098A and L1MZ7A098A for the filter, and HL3P7G186CA / HL3Z7A191A for the gasket. The filter is the same FT202 unit Motorcraft sells on its own.

Fitment covers Ford F-150 2017-2023, Expedition 2018-2024, Mustang 2018-2023, Explorer 2020-2023, Ranger 2019-2023 and Transit 150/250/350, plus Lincoln Navigator 2018-2023 and Aviator 2020-2023. Verify you have the 10R80 and not the 10R60 or 10R140 before ordering; the pans are not interchangeable.

The reason most people end up buying this is the factory pan itself. The original 10R80 pan has no drain plug, so a fluid service means dropping the whole pan and wearing whatever is left in it. The original gasket is also a molded rubber-on-steel carrier that Ford treats as single-use, and reusing a crushed one is where the seep along the pan rail after a service usually comes from. This pan has a drain plug in the low corner and ships with a metal gasket you can re-torque, so the next fluid change is a drain-and-fill instead of a teardown.

On the bench or on a lift: drain through the plug, pull the pan bolts, drop the pan, unclip the old filter from the valve body, seat the new filter until the neck seal is fully home, set the gasket on the pan rail dry, and run the bolts down in a crossing pattern to Ford's spec of roughly 106 in-lb. Refill with Motorcraft MERCON ULV only - the 10R80 is intolerant of the wrong fluid and will flare on the 4-5 shift if you feed it multi-vehicle ATF. Set the final level with the transmission at operating temperature per the fill procedure.
