42RLE Transmission Master Rebuild Kit with Filter, Dodge/Jeep

Complete master overhaul kit for the Chrysler 42RLE four-speed automatic, the rear-wheel-drive unit found behind the 2.4L, 2.7L, 3.5L, 3.7L, 3.8L and 4.0L engines in Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler and Mitsubishi vehicles from 2003 up. It carries the friction clutch pack, matching steel plates, the transmission filter, and the full gasket, seal, O-ring and sealing-ring set needed to close the case back up after a teardown.

On the bench the frictions and steels are stacked into the drums to reset clutch clearances, the new filter goes on before the pan, and the fresh gaskets, lip seals and sealing rings replace the hardened originals that cause pressure loss. It is the parts side of a rebuild when the 42RLE is slipping, flaring on the 2-3 shift, or leaking after high mileage. Hard parts, bushings and the torque converter are not included.
