48RE Converted Valve Body 2003-2007

The 48RE Converted Valve Body 2003-2007 is a direct-fit replacement valve body for the 48RE, covering 2003-2007 applications.

On the 48RE, the valve body directs line and governor pressure to the clutch packs and bands and works with the electronic governor pressure solenoid and sensor to time every shift. Years of pressure cycling wear the aluminum valve bores, and that is what causes the classic 48RE complaints: shuttle shifting, harsh or soft 2-3 shifts, no reverse, delayed engagement, and governor-pressure related codes.

This is not a cleaned-up core with the same worn bores put back in service. It is remanufactured with the Sonnax updates that correct the known wear points, then dyno-tested before it leaves the bench so the shift timing and pressures are verified, not assumed.
