4L60E 4L65E 4L70E Shift Solenoid A & B Kit 24230298

This is the pair of on/off shift solenoids that live on the valve body of a GM 4L60E, 4L65E, or 4L70E transmission. One is the 1-2 shift solenoid (solenoid A), the other is the 2-3 shift solenoid (solenoid B). Together the computer pulses them to route line pressure and control which gear the transmission is in. When one sticks or opens up electrically, you lose a gear, get stuck in a single ratio, or throw a shift-solenoid code. This kit replaces GM 24230298 and interchanges with 10478120, 10478131, 24236521, 214-1893, TCS17, and K77945.

The usual reason a tech buys these is a stored code: P0753 (shift solenoid A electrical) or P0758 (shift solenoid B electrical), often alongside a no-2nd-gear or no-3rd-gear complaint and harsh or missing shifts. They fit a huge slice of the GM fleet that ran the 4L60E family from 1993 up through 2013, including Silverado and Sierra 1500, Tahoe, Yukon, Suburban, Express and Savana vans, Astro and Safari, S10, Blazer, Colorado and Canyon, Escalade, Hummer H2 and H3, Trailblazer and Envoy, and the LS-swap crowd running a 4L60E behind a junkyard motor.

They swap out with the pan and filter off. Drop the pan, pull the filter, unbolt the old solenoids from the valve body, and unplug the connectors. Save the metal retaining clips from the old solenoids because these do not ship with new clips. Seat the new solenoid, reinstall the clip, and plug it back in. It is a bench-level job that saves a full valve body or a rebuild when the only real fault is a dead solenoid. Ships as a set of two.
