Five Torrington-style thrust bearings that replace the worn needle bearings in a GM 4L60E, 4L65E, 4L70E or 700R4 during a rebuild.
This is the five-bearing Torrington set for the GM 4L60 family, sold under the SBK-G12 / TBK-G12 number (interchange K77907A, 74201A, and GM 8642066, 8642162, 8642215, 24217327). It covers the 1982-up 700R4/4L60 and the 4L60E, 4L65E and 4L70E, which covers most 1993-2012 GM rear-drive trucks, SUVs and cars: Silverado and Sierra 1500, Tahoe, Yukon, Suburban, Express and Savana vans, S10, Camaro, Firebird, Corvette, Trailblazer, Envoy, Colorado and more.
The kit gives you the stator shaft to input/friction clutch bearing, the front clutch to input sun gear bearing, the output carrier to ring gear bearing, the output shaft to case bearing, and the reaction carrier to support bearing. Those are the needle thrust bearings that take the load between the rotating members. Once they start to break up, they cause the whine that changes pitch with road speed, loose endplay, and needle debris all through the pan and valve body.
Most rebuilders replace the whole set on any teardown, especially a unit that has a burned sun shell or failed planets, because a scored bearing race will eat the new parts. Clean and inspect the thrust surfaces, oil each bearing with ATF or assembly lube, install it in the same orientation as the one you removed, then check input shaft endplay with a dial indicator before you bolt the pump down. Endplay is set with the selective washer, not the bearings, so have your washer assortment on hand.
