4L60E Valve Body with Shift Solenoids and Harness

An assembled shift valve body for the GM 4L60E and 4L65E, built to the 2003-2005 configuration and also used behind the 4L70E. It ships complete with the shift solenoids, the separator plate and the internal wiring harness, which is the difference between a two-hour pan-down repair and a week of moving parts over from a core. Applications are the rear-wheel-drive GM line: Silverado, Sierra, Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, Envoy, Jimmy and the full-size vans.

Installation is from underneath with the transmission in the truck. Drain the pan, pull the filter, unplug the case connector from inside the case, and unbolt the old valve body while supporting it so the checkballs and the accumulator pistons do not drop. Account for every checkball before the new body goes up, torque the bolts in the factory crossing sequence to spec, then fit a new filter and pan gasket. Refill with Dexron VI, clear codes, and drive the relearn before judging shift quality.

This is the part you go to when a bore is worn rather than a solenoid failed: soft or flared 1-2 and 2-3 shifts that do not respond to new solenoids, no 3-4, converter shudder from a worn TCC regulator bore, low or erratic line pressure, and repeat P0751 or P1870 after the electrical side has already been replaced. Verify your year and transmission code against the unit in the vehicle before ordering, since the 4L60E separator plate and solenoid layout changed across the 1993-2002 and 2003-up splits.
