Remanufactured 4R70W EPC, dual shift solenoid pack and TCC solenoid with a filter and pan gasket for 1998-2004 Crown Vic, E-Series and Expedition.
This is a complete electrical service kit for the Ford 4R70W: the EPC (electronic pressure control) solenoid, the dual shift solenoid pack (SS1/SS2), and the TCC solenoid, plus a transmission filter and oil pan gasket so the whole job is done with one pan drop. The solenoids are remanufactured units. They are tested before shipping, but the housings may show cosmetic wear from service.
Why it fails: a weak EPC solenoid lowers line pressure, which shows up as soft, slipping shifts and burnt clutches; a sticking shift solenoid pack causes missed gears or a start in the wrong gear; a failing TCC solenoid causes converter shudder or no lockup at cruise. Codes such as P0750, P0755, P0740 and P1747 all point back to this group.
On the bench: drop the pan, remove the filter, unplug the case harness from the solenoids, and unbolt the solenoid body. Install the new EPC, shift pack and TCC solenoid, reconnect the harness, fit the new filter and pan gasket, and refill with Mercon V. Clearing adaptive values after the job helps the new EPC settle in.
Replaces 6L3Z-7G484-A, F8AZ-7G383-AA, F5AZ-7G136-AA and F8AZ-7G136-AA. Fits 1998-2004 Crown Victoria 4.6L, 1998-2004 Expedition 4.6L, and 2002-2004 E-150/E-250 with the 4.2L, 4.6L or 5.4L. Also used in other 4R70W applications of the same years; match the part numbers to your unit.
