5R55S Transmission Front Pump Assembly, Remanufactured

This is a complete front pump assembly for the Ford 5R55 family: 5R55S, 5R55W and 5R55N. It is a remanufactured unit, not new. The pump body, cover, gears and stator support have been cleaned, inspected and tested before shipping. It arrives as an assembly, so you are not chasing individual gears, bushings and seals on the bench.

Applications include 2002-2003 Explorer 4.0L and 4.6L, 2004-2008 Explorer and Sport Trac 4.0L, 2004-2005 Explorer 4.6L, 2005-2010 Mustang 4.0L and 4.6L, 2002-2005 Thunderbird 3.9L, 2003-2005 Aviator 4.6L, and 2000-2006 Lincoln LS and Jaguar S-Type with the 5-speed. Match your transmission model before ordering.

When to replace the pump: low or erratic line pressure that shows up as slipping on a cold start, delayed engagement into Drive or Reverse, whine that rises with engine speed in every range, or a scored pump body and worn bushing found at teardown. A worn converter hub or a failed pump bushing will chew up a pump quickly, so inspect the converter hub before installing this one.

On the bench: lubricate the gears and seal with ATF or assembly lube, align the pump to the case with the proper alignment tool, and torque the bolts evenly. Check input shaft end play after installation. No installation manual is included.
