68RFE Transmission Solenoid Block Pack 52119435AF

This is the complete transmission solenoid block pack for the Chrysler RFE family: 68RFE in the Cummins Ram 2500 and 3500, plus the 45RFE and 545RFE in the gas Ram 1500, Dakota, Durango and Grand Cherokee. It replaces OE numbers 52119435AF, 5170877AF and 68002342AF (also cross-referenced to 5170877AA through AD, 52119435AA, 68353383AB/AC and 68376695AA). The pack carries all the shift solenoids, the integrated pressure transducer and the internal electrical connector as one assembly, which is why it gets replaced as a unit rather than solenoid by solenoid.

Symptoms that point to the solenoid pack: the truck drops into limp mode (locked in 2nd or 3rd), shifts are late, harsh or flare, it hunts between gears, or you are reading solenoid circuit codes in the P0750-P0760 range or line pressure sensor codes. On a high-mileage RFE a worn or contaminated pack is one of the most common causes of those complaints, and it can be changed with the transmission still in the truck.

On the bench it is a pan-drop job. Drain and drop the pan, pull the filter, unplug the transmission harness at the case connector, and remove the bolts holding the solenoid pack to the valve body. The pack lifts straight off; take care not to lose the check balls or let the valve body shift. Install the new pack with clean seals, torque the bolts evenly, refit a new filter and pan gasket, and refill with ATF+4. Run a quick learn / adaptive reset with a scan tool afterward so the TCM relearns clutch volumes.
