Filter and pan gasket for the Ford 6R60/6R75/6R80 (7L1Z7A098A, FT171), fitting 2006-2010 F-150, Expedition, Explorer, Navigator and Mountaineer.
Service kit for the Ford 6R60, 6R75 and 6R80 six-speed automatic. It includes the transmission oil filter that seats in the valve body pickup and the pan gasket that seals the 21-bolt pan. This is the kit you drop in during a fluid-and-filter service or after dropping the pan to check for clutch material and debris.
Replaces Ford part numbers 7L1Z7A098A, 7L1P7G186AB, 7L1P7G186AD and B368, cross-referenced as FT171. Fitment covers Expedition 5.4L (6R75/6R80) 2007-2010, Explorer and Explorer Sport Trac 4.0L/4.6L (6R60/6R80) 2007-2010, F-150 4.6L/5.4L/6.2L (6R80) 2009-2010, Lincoln Mark LT 5.4L (6R80) 2006-2008, Navigator 5.4L (6R75) 2008-2010, and Mercury Mountaineer 4.0L/4.6L (6R60) 2007-2010.
On the bench: lube the filter O-ring before seating it so it does not tear going in, scrape the old gasket off the pan and case, wipe the pan clean, lay the new gasket on the greased pan, and hand-snug the pan bolts in a cross pattern before torquing. Note that some early 6R60 applications use a shallow pan with a different filter neck, so match the filter and pan depth to your old parts before installing.
