6T30 Transmission Master Rebuild Kit for Chevy Cruze and Aveo

This master kit is built for the GM 6T30 (6T30E), the lightest version of GM's front-wheel-drive six-speed family. The seller lists it for the 2010-2014 Chevy Cruze 1.8L and 2.0L, the Aveo 1.6L and the 2013-2014 Trax 1.4L and 1.8L. Pull the transmission ID or the RPO code before ordering so you know you have the 6T30 and not the larger 6T40.

The kit ships as shown in the photos: the friction and steel plates plus the overhaul seal and gasket set to reseal the case, pump and clutch drums. The seller part number is BL-10035227.

The 6T30 shares its clutch layout with the 6T40 family, and the complaints are the same: harsh or flared 3-4 and 4-5 shifts, loss of reverse, and a slip that sets P0776 or other ratio codes. A broken 3-5-reverse wave plate is a known cause on this family, so inspect that plate and the drum splines while the unit is apart.

Soak the new frictions in DEXRON VI before assembly, set each pack clearance with a feeler gauge, and lube the seals with assembly gel. After the rebuild, run the TCM clutch adapt relearn with a scan tool; skipping it is the most common reason a fresh 6T30 shifts badly.
